Louis has been called out in his sad boi attitude. Thinking he’s special and doesn’t fit in makes him like everybody else.

Vampires killing a vampire, and easily. Not often seen in vampire media. Lois allows this to be a framed as an act of mercy from God to the peasants, but it’s arbitrary. He left Morgan to die but could not finish him. He killed the vampire but only in self-defense. He still doesn’t know if he’s an angel or a devil and, true to form for the rest of the book, refuses to make an intentional decision.

Lois has watched the virgin kill his god (Lestat) and now he overtakes god. He is god. And he has no faith in himself. His faith has always relied on others more than ”holy” than him. Once the mystery of faith is on him, it stops being mysterious.
