I swear Proust either had ADHD or he was a genius. His ramblings have a point, but they're all over the place. 30 pages alone spent in his childhood dear of being left alone with no good night from his mother seems a bit excessive...or obsessive, depending on your interpretation.

Mixed emotions at this time. While I appreciate the literary genius of Proust, the storyline itself gets bogged down by exploratory writing. Each exquisite detail is extraordinary, yet there are many who will not be able to appreciate the mastery.
