Karen’s Reviews > Pendergast: The Beginning > Status Update

Preston & Child can create some of the most monstrously strange bad guys.

Is it ever good to find out someone’s primary driving vehicle is a white panel truck?
Primary vehicle.
Panel truck.

God bless Proctor!
He’s a saint in these books!

As usual, Preston & Child have all the cards up their sleeves and toss those cards out with the same dexterity exhibited by their creation, A.X.L. Pendergast, when picking locks.
Dastardly devils!💕🙌

At the end of chapter 25:
“…a corpse, victimized postmortem.”

I’d like to say this has NEVER occurred in any other Preston & Child book but…
We all KNOW that’s not a true statement 💕🥰🥳

“…a suppressed note of triumph in his voice…”
(Pg 126. Last lines of chapter 23)

Pendergast’s version of gloating 🙌🙌🙌

Reference to Alabama, living up to its reputation…yes, I would know 🙄

The Penumbra!

Enter young SA Pendergast…already receiving threats from his supervisor. Bless Decker’s heart for getting him into the FBI.

The Beginning!
And it appears we learn a bit more about my favorite fellow from the Pendergast family! None other than Proctor! Be still my heart!❤️
