Love how despite this being YA (she’s 17 but she feels older) it doesn’t shy away from dark or unconventional themes. Beast (the actual LI) is ugly (yasss) and actually hits her.. BUT it was a consequence of saving his life. Not much romance so far so might skim some of the draggy parts in Rennes to get to more exposition parts.

Been listening at 1.5x, kinda dragging but def an improvement over the last book bc Sybella is complex and has a backbone. I was very mistaken that Julian would be the love interest.. bc he wants her even tho HE’S HER BROTHER. Um. Also have the text so did skim a bit and there’s a big reveal that had me go “ewwwww” but I haven’t gotten to it yet..
