Real cool, especially if you look at it through an almost Sherlock Holmes-type of lens. The encouragement from the doctors and sheriff’s offices to take heroine to fight off cholera in chapter two is pretty funny, especially since it did mediate the retention of water in the victims to keep them from dying due to dehydration because of heroine’s side effect of constipation.
