The historical lens shown throughout this book is fascinating. It shows the imperfections of the founding of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that some may take issue with. I see it as a test of faith of the best kind. Plus, it’s really fun to see the character of some of the lesser known leaders shine through to help me feel more at place In church callings.

I roll my eyes about some of the subjective language and conclusions, but overall a really fascinating book! Would recommend to anyone fs

Real heavy…

Switched to an audiobook. I read most of Foundation and listened to all of George Washington: A Life (900 page book) before returning to read the second chapter haha. I’ve heard from my buddy Dalton that it gets better from here…

More entertaining than expected. More of an emotionally narrative experience than I was expecting but I suppose it accomplishes the goal of the book: to provide a guided outlook on the depth and breadth of the effects of microorganism on humanity. I see it as a bridge between scientific papers and well-backed opinion pieces in the NYT.
