maybe if we spent more than 1 page in total developing dani's characterization before now, I would understand her thought process BEFORE she makes the decisions she does and don't have to rely on single throwaway lines doing damage control

it's incredibly funny to me that despite lying all book about every little inconsequential thing, she suddenly forgets that lying her way out of this is a option. this is so stupid. this is beyond stupid. i'm losing sleep over how stupid this is, surely in this decade we can think of other third act breakup plots
