Wow, this a mess of literary genius! I need more references for my second read!

Just about done with Chapter One/The Beginning of the Text/Whatever and I have decided to take a break. I don't feel I am properly absorbing the words, the nonsensical and the less nonsensical, so I will reconnoitre and try again soon-ish.

Fucking Joyce! Since figured out I can't read this and not wonder about the references he is making, known and unknown. So I need to take a step back and refigure how to proceed. Probably turn off the "meaning of the text" read and just do the reading. Then come back and go all "academic" on it! Ha!

A fascinating and frustrating read. This one may take me the remainder of 2022 to finish!

I am resisting the urge to stick with Tindall's "Reader's Guide" and finally diving in! This book has an amazing 56 pages of prefacing before the actual text begins. On to Chapter One!
