A new author to me. She is a Minnesotan and a member of the Turtle Mountain band of Chippewa. So far Louise Erdrich has brought a attention to the plight of the Chippewa Indian Nation as well as other Indian Nations in the 1950's. Historically accurate and the pictures she paints with her words invites me to imagine how hard life was for the proud people of these indigenous tribes.
