Flanagan, I'm not saying there aren't girls like this out there, but they're not the type who will be reading your books. The type of girls who are reading your books find it hard to relate to female characters who are motivated by compliments and boys.

Why is Flanagan SO BAD at writing girls? Alice is just obnoxious. He seems to think he's making her flattering and powerful but she's so petty and Jenny is way more interesting even though she has barely any screen time.
