Maneesha It’s not the first time we’re leaning about colonialism through movies or books. But to relate to the characters, who have such close ties to everything that has happened is devastating.

I learnt about the transatlantic slave trade and how Britain only and only abolished the slave trade to hurt the French from gaining more money from the plantation.

Why are other races so beneath them? Why was it so easy to take someone else’s life. Why is it okay to do this inhumane activities to everyone else but not to the ones who look like them.

Is it so rare to be human to people? Why is it so difficult to understand that what’s happening and what could happen if they admitted the murder would implicate only the colored and not Letty.

Omg, Ramy has always been right to not trust Letty from the beginning. And what evil person she has turned out to be. She was given the opportunity to rid herself of this group again and again. But she always acted as if she’s the superior person who understands everything, and she still stood to be as pretentious and unwilling to see through their lens.

To believe them and save them, Anthony, Cathy, Illse and Vimal have put themselves in grave danger, which they did not deter for. They have seen this before. They have e understood how to fight the right way. With protests and proclamations and spreading of information to pressure the government and the incite the public to wage war. However, this never happened. They should’ve know she was a bitch. Argh!!

Ramy! Oh poor Ramy! All he did was provide such a safe space to Robin. And strove hard to defend the rights of his people, and kept the rebellion strong in his heart and soul. But the world never really gave him a chance to fight.

Sterling Jones, I wish his death was not just a bullet. The unnecessary violence, the superiority complex, as if they were doing the Chinese a favor by waging war against them for not agreeing to trade opium. The blatant hypocrisy and lies. Why is it that exploitation is so simply and easy, just because they have the power to shoot bullets. Is there no value to life?

And Griffin! All these rebels who have strung themselves to fight and strive through so many difficulties and challenges, it was not right.

How everyone looked up to them, and now they are no longer there. This is no right. The pain on Robin chest seems so heavy.

I really hope the ending to this story is deserving of all the cruelty they are being put through.

I truly understand the meaning behind, the necessity of violence now😭
