So far I'm enjoying this a bit more than Mortal Follies. I continue to have mixed feelings about the narrative voice. Sometimes it's delightful and other times it's a bit tedious. The fade to black is disappointing but consistent with the previous book. Unlike MF, I didn't go into this one expecting romance, and I think I'm enjoying it more being in the correct headspace.
