Chapter 5 on prayer is nice and juicy so far in terms of Puritan quotations.

Reformed and Puritan view on Scripture prayer: basically a conversation and dialogue with the living triune God -> we hear His Word and then respond to it in prayer

Starting Chapter 4 on biblical meditation. Really good so far.

Bingham is incisive on the relationship between justification and sanctification here (and how both flow from union w/ Christ), and how Reformed soteriology (contra to non-Protestant and even many ostensibly evangelical theologians’ claims), far from giving no motivation for spiritual growth, actually is the only way to pursue healthy, secure, meaningful growth in godliness.

Awesome first chapter on what spiritual formation is and what it isn’t (or, rather, what it shouldn’t be).
