Okay, I’ve only read book one and I loved it. However, I decided not to finish the series because of the content. I know it’s different for every person tho, so I’ll share my reasons even though it’s probably a VERY unpopular opinion, lol. (I think I listed everything in my review too…? So if you want me to link it I can!)

Despite the fact it’s “clean” it does get really steamy. There’s lots of detailed, passionate, French kissing (the tongue and everything haha), quite a number of innuendos (you’re not supposed to like the guy—but still), and several suggestive scenes made me personally uncomfortable (*cough* the bedroom scene *cough*).
Call me cringe or sensitive, but I also was super weirded out when Jacks (the MMC) literally sticks his hand down the front of Eva’s corset… without consent. Andddd he was licking her neck and trying to untie her dress and all that fun stuff. He WAS under a spell, but it was still a SUPER weird scene imo. And there’s even more of that in the later books 🫠
The whole said “romance” just came across as super lusty to me. I know I only read book one and listened to a synopsis of the rest of the books, but it just made me uncomfortable.

The other aspect that really wasn’t a huge deal but something some Christians may find potentially problematic, is the morals lol. Like you’re supposed to like Jacks, yet he cheats and lies and isn’t afraid to hurt people. And I’ve heard he changes later on, but I’ve also seen other fellow Christians say the morals aren’t fantastic either and they actually read all the books. So do what that what you will 😂
There’s little things too that are weird, like Jacks rubs his blood on people’s lips and bites them. And there’s a vampire named Chaos (who’s also a god kinda? I think?) and he’s a bit uh… dark. Honestly. I mean, if you’re cool with vampires lusting after people’s blood to the point they gotta wear masks to restrain them from licking your neck… then 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Yeah, I mean, it’s weird and steamy at times, but the story itself is interesting and I genuinely enjoyed it. I just thought I’d share why I didn’t finish it in case that bother you 😭✌🏼

I’ve made a list of all the books I WANT to get, but I’m gonna have to narrow it down.

You should get it!!! I haven’t read it yet, but that’s one of the series I’ll be getting!!!

OH MY WORD YOURE A LIFE SAVER THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I’ll probs still end up checking out the first book, just because I have so much fomo🙈😭 but… yeah… hopefully I’ll finish it 😶
