I don't know if I'm actually managing to get burned out on smut and need some rated R and below books for a while (TBH it would be good for me to work on getting more normal books into the rotation anyway), or if I'm getting more picky about my smut, but I'm listening to this scene at 2x, bored and waiting for it to be over.
Might also be that I'm not managing to give a shit about the characters...

Huh. I didn't think *that* would be the theory I was wrong about. And I definitely didn't see this particular twist.

So, I have one theory, based on a small bit from Neurovance, but then another additional theory. Actually, that additional theory just changed as I was typing this. Huh...

Okay, the narration is better than I thought it was.
But DAMN, Riddick, you're fucking shameless.
So far this book has such a thin veneer of plot compared to Merc & Mort or Neurovance. Feels like it's just a porn plot. "Surfer moves to a town, meets a hot guy who he convinces to give him advanced surfing lessons, fooling around ensues."

I can't help but think of leviathans in the Subnautica sense, although I guess that's probably not a *complete* coincidence.

Borrowed Chasing Riddick('s Dick) from QPL/hoopla and need to return it in 16 days, so I should probably get around to listening to it. Unfortunately I've already sampled it, and the narration isn't as good as with Merc & Mort, and certainly not Neurovance, but I'll live. After all, I got through The fucking Giver's narration.
