Getting more intelligent doesn't bring good side effects. When it makes Charlie outgrow his peers in the bakery, even the woman he has cared for before the surgery, he becomes confused and lonely, though in a way he feels liberated too. And being intelligent doesnt automatically remove the impacts of his past done to him subconsciously. He has to overcome it so he can have the normal life he wants. Will he?
