I get that it doesn’t have to be a linear happy ending, but I thought it was a lame choice to end it on. I also thought this was a book 1 or 2, not a standalone in a set world, where book 2 is a different characters. Idk something about it feels off. Still enjoyed it tbh and I loved the group dynamics/side characters. I just didn’t like that kier was bound to isle as the choice for living.

This book was good and then I read the reviews and agreed. I wish there was a bit more, more character arc maybe? More lady knight action too. The ending part did feel rushed, I didn’t like the ending I thought Kier being given the house of his family home to be a little short in delivery. He never gets to travel again and see the tree where his brother is buried.
