Agent Renko is simply the best TTRPG NPC I've ever come across. A pathos-driven double agent embodying all the paranoia and tragedy of classic spy fiction; but written so mercurially that even the Handler does not know the truth about him until his storyline is concluded and the superposition of double/triple crossings finally resolves in a grim reflection of the players' above-table arguments about who he really is.
