Shane gazed at his ridiculous-looking boyfriend, who smiled back at him.
“I do,” he said quietly, and with an embarrassing amount of feeling.
“Ilya,” said Jade, “do you promise to love Shane and be his husband forever?”
“I do,” Ilya said. “Forever.”

I know it’s pretend but it’s adorable🥹

Ilya bent and hovered one hand near her bent knees. “May I?”
“Go for it.”
Ilya lifted her into his arms. She wasn’t a tall woman, but she was fit and strong. He was still able to lift her easily.

Ilya: In traffic.
Shane: Fuck. Where?
Ilya: Montreal? I don’t fucking know.
Shane: Hurry up.
Ilya: Ok. I will ask the driver to make the car fly.

‘Kiss me’, Ilya wanted to say. ‘Kiss me and hold me in front of all these people. Pull me onstage and do it. I don’t care anymore. Please. I’m dying.’
“Nothing,” Ilya said, and stepped away. “Nothing.”

“We are very good at pretending to not be in love. Maybe we are bad at showing it when we are allowed.”

That’s kinda…sad ☹️

"You wouldn’t be the only gay hockey players. Or queer. Sorry, I shouldn’t assume.”
“I am bisexual,” Ilya said, nodding. “Shane is super gay.”
“I’m regular gay,” Shane argued.

“Very good job, Coach Shane,” Ilya teased.
“I suck at this,” Shane said.
“Yes, but the rest of us are good, so no problem.”
