Turns out it’s much harder for journalist to make a story about a tragedy that happened in her country, cause then it becomes more emotional and less objective - that’s what Smita is facing now.

I love how this book being not only about the murder case.
Big part of this story is also immigrant coming to homeland after years .
People treat her there often as inferior, in their eyes she is just a tourist, more American than Indian and they even called her memsahib which means “European woman”.
During this trip she reconnects with some important parts of herself too.
