Finished Chapter 2: The Dealer, where we are told the story of how an avid book collector, Bruce Cable, turned his passion for collecting books into an unexpected thriving business.
I do like the feel of this chapter as it feels very cozy. I really like the different genre shifts that the book takes, going from slightly intense heist to a moderately relaxing story of a man and his business.

Started Chapter 3: The Recruit, where a struggling writer, Mercer Mann, is recruited by a top-secret enforcer, Elaine, to go to Camino Island to investigate the missing manuscripts, even if Mercer has her doubts.
A fifth of the way through and we have finally met our protagonist, Mercer Mann, a struggling writer who is desperate for money, and had a childhood going to Camino Island as a young girl.

Finished Chapter 1, where the Heist leader, Denny, ties up any loose ends to stop the authorities from snooping.
Well, looks like that was an interesting prologue to the story, as the lost manuscripts are the inciting incident that will be important to the storyline of this book. Or maybe they are a red herring to distract us from something else.

Just started reading Camino Island, where five robbers took the F.Scott Fitzgerald manuscripts from under everyone’s noses, yet a minor slip-up may cause their downfall.
I do like the vibe of this heist story, although I do feel that it is a bit of an extended prologue that takes up a tenth of the book’s runtime (so far), and we haven’t been introduced to the protagonist yet. Will Mercer Mann show up? Maybe.
