So far my take on this hews pretty closely to the orthodoxy: a handful of great moments, ideas, and turns of phrase embedded in an ocean of tedium. I hope things pick up a bit once the Spaniard is done nattering on... too bad I asked some friends of mine to read this with me in a book club! Gulp!
