Reads more like a gossip column than an actual journalistic account, way too much speculation. Also, why is there a whole chapter speculating on John dunne’s sexuality and whether or not he was in love with eve (all the sources explicitly told her no but she still holds on to the theory somehow???)

Author has toned down the fangirlness…not sure about some of her reasoning and the people sort of blur together but she does make the parallels and dissimilarities between didion and babitz clear
