Part 2 starts off a little slow compared to how part 1 ended.
We’ll see what shenanigans Cathy and Adam get into in the Salinas Valley

I don’t even know what to say. Can’t believe of all peoples paths, the Cyrus brothers are the ones who had to encounter Cathy

What a miserable scenario of Adam. I wondered why he escaped his sentence with three days left. The thought that he was just afraid of being picked up when his sentence concluded again is so sad

End thus ends the story of Cathy … or does it ?!

This chapter (9) was a little weird with the introduction of Cathy. I imagine this one probably isn’t too popular

So ridiculous to see Adam not only become a vagrant after his military service but become arrested for it too. There’s a nice line in this chapter (7, pt1) about the shared restlessness between vagrants if nothing else.

It’s also interesting to see Adam not recognize his own passive suicidal tendencies in his no longer being afraid of his brother.

There’s a hilarious bit in this chapter (6) about Liza’s aversion to alcohol lol. This book is damn funny. After the exposition of Samuel’s offsprings, the narrator explains that Samuel is “ proud of the fruit of his loins “
