There is way too much of the characters thinking to themselves in the same way they would have a conversation with someone else. It feels clunky. And it's so slow. Bored now...

I don't blame you. Why waste your time with a story that doesn't work for you when I'm sure you have a TBR pile of books about ready to topple over.

Oh, I so do. lol. I don't usually mind pushing through, but when it's the style itself that's not working for me, it's doubtful my opinion will change.
