Apple Lyra ✨ > Status Update

So okay it has literally been like over a week since my last update about that guy because obviously nothing interesting ever happens to me and I basically stay inside all day anyway . BUT just a while ago I was forced to step outside to grab a package from our porch gate. And of course, that was the exact moment he’d be jogging past our street.

He slowed down when he saw me and went, "Hey! Still reading that book?" And I just laughed and said, "I actually finished it." He was like, "Wait, really? What did you think?" So I told him honestly that I actually really liked it and it was super sweet except it had some bad language, and he said, "Oh so I guess you actually saved me from reading it because I don't read such books too."

Then there was this awkward little pause where I summoned courage to say, "You know, my mom told me our moms work together, but it just hit me that I’ve literally had two full conversations with you and I still don't even know your name."
I told him my name and he goes, "Oh, I'm River. So .. I guess it's Nice to officially meet you without you looking like you're about to murder me for dropping your book." I was so embarrassed but he just laughed, said he'd see me around the neighborhood and walked away.

So yeah... the mystery book guy has an actual name now!! I don't know why my heart was beating so fast over a two-minute conversation because believe me when I say I haven't ever had a guy friend or have talked to a lot of boys in general. So..yep that's the update.

Never!! Like maybe you could count that one guy I had as a friend when I was 8 or 9 before he moved away but ever since then not a single guy friend.

Agreed. Just don’t let them get to close, like best friend, cause it will likely end up awkward when your older and then you ll be left without any girl friends

So about a week ago I went to Barnes and nobles and I was heading to the fantasy section and I was holding trust fall by Lynn painter already and there was this guy who was studying like in the cafe/starbucks area and he took off his headphones and asked me what book I was holding. ( and he’s probably like maybe three years older than me possibly. ) I showed him the book and he said “is that a romance?” I said “yes it is.” and he started asking questions about it like “is that your favorite author?” And stuff like that and then eventually he asked how many books I’ve read from her I said all the YA ones besides the one I was holding And I was like “I guess I just really like fake dating.” And he asked “what is fake dating?” And boy he asked the wrong person because I was everywhere. I tried to explain but I’m a huge introvert and i stumble a lot so when he asked me I was stumbling everywhere and couldn’t find the words to say anything. I was also kinda scared cause I why was this guy suddenly talking to me? So after I was done embarrassing myself with how I speak when I’m nervous. He somehow understood what I was saying. Like he wasn’t mean at all, it was just shocking. Loll so he kept talking a little longer and then we eventually stopped talking and then I left and went to my brother who was in the next section just in case something happened. I’m just thankful my mom was in another store next door because I’d be hearing this till the day I die.

Ok why does stuff like this keep happening around her books?! But anyways yep a bit weird if a random guy started talking to me like that and believe me I was a bit scared the second time I saw River too because the first thing I thought was how come was he around my house but thankfully my mum was at the door .

With each update it gets more and more like a book 🥹 I didn't know things like this could happen. I would be scared if it was me
