“I who have never known men” as a title undermines the story. I love the protagonist’s exploration of life and self as she gets to understand what it is to be human.

The ending is leaving me distraught and I feel a tremendous amount of pity for “child.” Overall, it is a a great read and would have been even better if it was written with a more recent outlook on womanhood.

I fear that this book would be so much better if men were less central to the woman’s identity. To an extent, gender can only be understood with diversity, but I find it detrimental to the story the level of the protagonist’s fixation is on men.

Found it so odd that she was fantasizing about the same man that upheld her imprisonment in the beginning.
