The pov tone of this book feels like reading an instruction manual written in first person pov. It’s so methodical almost, like joey could have been a neurodivergent character except she’s not. I read not in love by ali hazelwood, which actually had the fmc, rue, identify with neurodivergence and even her voice sounded better than joey’s.

I feel like joey knowing everything at age 18 feels like she disregards a lot of what madison is saying and i’m hoping this is just because she *just* went back in time and not her actual personality.
If this is on purpose, though, she’s very much acting like an adult in the presence of children.
