I don't have a boyfriend, but there is a guy I'm getting pretty close to. Anyway, it's definitely going to be less awkward since you're bringing multiple people with you. That helps the conversation flow more freely, and it takes some pressure off. Honestly, try not to go over the possible conversations 100 times in your head. That's just going to make you more nervous. Let the conversation come naturally, and try not to plan it. Just have fun!!! 💛
I have a lot of guy friends, and we really just chat about whatever the heck we can think of, lol. They are pretty chill, but I don't know how River is. The only sort of romantic moment with a guy I've had we just talked about school, soooo, I don't think my comment does anything for you😭 I will definitely pray for you though! If he's the one, God should help you along!
I have lots of friends that are dudes and usually the stupidest conversations end up being the best lol
If you're going to the park with other people, it seriously makes things a lot easier. Don't panic going over possible conversations again and again in your head, but rather let the conversation about books take you where it will. Be open and honest, especially when you have nothing to say and there's an awkward pause! (Seriously, when this happens, drawing attention humorously to it can be a good thing, and often breaks any tension... I have been in a situation when this happened.) Are you just going to the park to hang out, or do you have anything planned in particular? Maybe bring along a frisbee or a ball or something- even if you're not good at that sort of game, they can be great fun and loosen things up a bit, as well as bonding you all as a group. Hope this helps! God bless! You got this :)
Some of my really good friends are guys, Trust me girl just be yourself around him. Don't change anything about yourself, Smile, laugh, talk about your hobbies ask him about his, talk about books your favorite books, listen when he's talking about something, comment on the things he talks about and just act natural :) hang out with his twin sister too I'm sure she'd also be fun as well. Also add in a little few jokes break the ice a little! Most of the guys I'm friends with have been friends since childhood so I've always just never been nervous around guys to much because I grew up with them. But like even if your nervous he won't hate you for being nervous thats understandable especially if your an introvert! Just walk around the park, see if his siblings wanna come to and just get to know them!
lolol i don't think I have any helpful advice for u bc I'm just as cluelesss too😭 but from from what I've gathered from my friends, guys LOVE when u laugh at their jokes (even tho theyre silly) and they'll yap for hours on the random thingssss. so yesss, make small tallk in the beginning, books is the best way to start since that's already common bw u too. and eventually ulll find more things u both are interested in and u can take it from thereee. goooood luck girlll <3
Ok so with my boyfriend, we’ve been in the same community since third grade! He was always superrrrr shy though so we never got to be friends until near the end of 10th grade for me, 9th for him, where we’re were in karate together all the time. I didn’t like him until the middle of that summer. When I started liking him, one thing I knew he liked was Zelda games so I would talk to him about those and ask for tips to help me beat monsters in the game. We also talked about karate a lot, of course, since that’s a passion we both have. Eventually he got up the courage to ask me to homecoming, but I’m not sure if it would’ve happened with his sister Ari who’s been shipping us for a while and knew we both liked each other but couldn’t tell the other how we felt. She got him to ask me.
At first, it was REALLY awkward. We didn’t know what to go or talk about. The first time we hung out, we played uno and chess for about two and a half hours cause we didn’t know what to do. We’ve moved past that now of course. Now, we talk about anything! Karate, books, our faith, interesting things that have happened recently, school, I tell him about my writing, he tells me about Trailife (Christian Boy Scouts), places we’ve traveled and places we want to go, funny videos we’ve seen recently, I talk about debates I watch and participate in online, pretty much anything! You can use any of those ideas yourself too, if you want.
For the question of how I knew he’s the one, I’m trusting Gods plan for me. I asked Him to not let me date anyone who wasn’t in His plan for me to marry. I’ve had my heart broken from friends before, and I don’t think I could handle having my heart broken by a boy I would end up not marrying. And I trust that God has my future in His hands, and Josiah is the one for me. I can tell him anything and he doesn’t judge me. He leads me closer to God and inspires me in my faith every day. His family is absolutely wonderful and loves me, and his sister is one of my best friends. I’ve never met someone who brings me as much peace as he does. I feel safe and loved around him, and I know I can be completely myself and never have to pretend to be someone I’m not. He’s everything I ever prayed for in a partner, and I truly can’t imagine someone who would fit better with me. That’s how I know he’s the one. You won’t know right away. It takes time. And I got really blessed in this area of my life.
I’ll be praying for your park hangout with him to go well and for you to not be anxious leading up to it! Always be yourself, because you don’t want him to fall for a version of yourself that isn’t really you. You got this girl! We love you!
EnchantedEva wrote: "Oh my stars I just realized how long my response was"No worries! And thanks Eva your comment genuinely put a smile on my face and calmed me down a bit.
And thanks to the rest of the girlies too, y'all boosted a little confidence in me.
But if anybody else has anything to say or any other advice to give me do comment, I will take all the help I can get.
Like Eva said, be yourself. Don't forget to pray. Let things unfold naturally - which will feel a bit awkward in the beginning just because you two are starting to get to know each other. The group setting is probably a good one. It allows you both to have an out if you need and other avenues of focus. (Siblings are just the best chaperones most times.) Praying for you.
you could ask him about his hobbies, movies or shows he likes, if he likes to work out (my guy friends always like to talk abt fitness and stuff), if he prefers fantasy or sc-fi in literature and pop culture, maybe crack a couple jokes
Ohmygoshhhh yessss for advice wise I’m gonna say what basically everyone else has said. Don’t plan out the conversations just go with the flow and talk about the random small stuff. That’s the only way you’re gonna get to know eachother
So basically i just shot my shot and we started talking. He rejected me at first, but now we have been dating for a year! Just go for it. Talk about books! You guys share that! Just be yourself, and dont hide. Obviousy be in the talking stage for a bit, but you got this and i csant wait to hear more about it!
So update on my hangout!!! I had such an amazing time today hanging out with River and his sisters. Thanks to y'all I tried to just be myself and had so much fun. We obviously talked about books and then marvel because they are so into it too, a little bit about our families and stuff so yep! His twin sister Robin is sooo cool btw, I think I made some really good friends today. Thankyou thankyou thankyou for y'alls advice and prayers again. I enjoyed a lot!!!
