I’m breadcrumbing myself with this book because I’m so attached to these characters, their lives, and the story that Elena Ferrante is telling in the margins. I actually laughed out loud when Silvia revealed that Nino was the father of her child, most all the men in this book carry 1-2 bad qualities that all men are socialized to have, Nino carries them all.

I’m holding myself back from pausing my read of this series because as much as I feel myself getting sadder and sadder as my journey with these wonderful characters is coming closer to the end, it would be a disservice to not read the entire series while the details are all still fresh in my mind.

(Cont.) Yet Elena is still fond of him, what judgement/observation of women is Ferrante making with that choice? I can already tell that this book will be much more enjoyable for me than the second was.
