I don’t think long multi generational family sagas are my thing. I also don’t understand the hype over this book, so far. It’s not bad at all, I just don’t love it.

Sometimes old books lose their appeal. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson is supposed to great horror but I didn't even think it was an average novel and don't understand why people love it. At least you tried to like it.

I saw your TBR that you want to read ,We Have Always Liked in a Castle, I found it to be quirky and relatable in a way. That's also written by Shirley Jackson. You might like that one. I found it very interesting.
