I'm looking forward to see how this tale evolves never having read a story like this before. Deeply spiritual, the author shares history of Jamaica since it's where he originated. What we don't know is whether it's fictional. Regardless I'm going to sip it slowly which is best with creative writers like Miller

Absolutely remarkable. Miller's use of shifting POV, back story that builds character depth and an unexpected ending makes this story about a small town in Jamaica unique. When I turned the final page I paused, due to the story's emotional impact. Five star review tomorrow

Hard not to recall the iconic tunes of Bob Marley when reading this. The Rasta people of Augustown march while chanting since Kaia's teacher cut off his dreadlocks in an effort to to instill authority.

Very unusual yet engaging story. The author opens the door in the 60s then shifts back to the 20s where the preacher called Bedward first tells the community he will float from his experience in heaven. In parallel Ma Taffy and her siblings grow concerned about young Kaia who has been ostracized by a new school teacher.

Absolutely fabulous! It's easy to see how the author has received awards for poetry, his narrative akin to a song. He POV from third person narrator to first person that's immersive and mystical. So glad I discovered a new author who understands the essence of storytelling!
