I wonder if any of these plans will pan out. This has been a really bleak read, which makes sense but there are a lot of mechanisms created and discarded, temporary constructions of plans, ideas, lives. It's interesting to see so many in a row but I wonder what the ultimate idea for the novel is, still.

I can't believe I'm only 35% through this book. I wonder what happens in the rest. I know the author was inspired by The Long Walk (wild) so I know how it could end, but I wonder what else happens here to spur a genre into motion.
