the way that graham, the trans man love interest, is being written is starting to feel really condescending. a transgender character written for an audience that has never encountered a transgender person before, real or fictional, ever in their entire lives.

i’d vibe a lot more with the constant sirens blaring subtlety-of-a-sledgehammer comparing of being transgender to being a not-so-undercover alien if it was written by a trans author or at the very least least coming out of the mouth of a trans character. as it is, cis girl stasia keeps looking at her trans boyfriend and thinking wow it’s a good thing he’s trans bc it means he Gets It and uh. not really?
