I've long been curious about this recent Pulitzer-Winner and decided to finally pick it up. Where would it stand in a court of public opinion on the State of Israel and the Netanyahu family that has changed drastically in just 5 years? What would it have to say about the Jewish-American identity and diaspora? Would its satire be pretentious deflection, or cutting observation? As of yet, I'm unsure the answers.

Psycane Part of this is clearly Cohen's own conflicted opinion on these ideas and the oxymoronic perils of the modern Jewish identity, but also his tendency to academically dissect them in a way that is emotionally disconnected. He thus far does not have answers, and there are certainly no simple ones to give, but where that stands and whether it portrays a centrist cowardice or honest conflict I've yet to determine. It is certainly not kind to Benzion Netanyahu, but it is equally reticent to actually discuss the State of Israel and Palestine in a strangely obtuse manner.

Regardless, it is certainly an engaging and interesting read even if I don't quite know how to understand it yet.
