rhony for urban planning nerds. moses goes from fan favorite to villain, spreading lies and calling the press…truly center apple behavior. i’m torn between admiring his ability to build and feeling uneasy about the human cost (rip 3rd ave). on a personal note, i’ve always wondered why riverside park isn’t actually on the river. ty federal funding constraints and moses park vision. stay tuned for more updates

still reading. i’m impressed with how moses maintained influence across the gov changes. i like how he leads - work hard and set a high bar. tbh a lot of this book is… moses builds a park, then moses builds a road, rinse and repeat. but it’s nice he’s improving (?) the city during the depression. also it was really sweet how he built the zoo for smith and gave back to his sponsor. hopeful to finish in 2026.

just wanted to say i'm still reading this. moses is building a lot of parks before al smith leaves office. kinda crazy all the gymnastics he is going through to get anything done...aligning with smith, writing laws ppl don't understand, lowballing budgets to get projects approved, setting up park authorities so he can control his own projects/funding. hope to finish this within a year...
