With all the fantastic historical references and allusions herein, this is a potential 5-star read for any history hound as well as those who enjoy time travel tales. Consequently I'm learning more history than I bargained for as I'm unfamilair with many of the historical references/allusions and feel compelled to give them a cursory look-up in order to better understand the context🤓.

Uh-oh, time-slip turmoil (⚆_⚆) "I came through in a crouch, ready to bolt if Lady Schrapnell was in the lab. The lab looked like it had been turned into a war room. All across the wall where I had sat -how many days ago?- there was a comp setup so big it dwarfted the net console.
'What are you doing here?', Warder demanded. 'What happened to Kindle?'
'Advanced time-lag, thanks to you people!', I exclaimed." ≽(◉˕ ◉ ≼マ

"All history can be reduced to the effects of natural forces acting upon populations." pg 86
Where have we heard that sentiment recently? Oh yeah, Asimov's FOUNDATION TRILOGY! Harri Seldon (psychohistorian extraordinaire) puts forth a similar hypothesis in his Encyclopedia Galactica.
I'm not saying I whole heartedly agree with said hypothesis, but is is curiously interesting 🤓.

"There were 5 of us- Caruther's and the new recruit and myself, and Mr. Spivens & the verger." Along with Lady Schrapnell, these are the new players in this 2nd installment of The Oxford Time Travel Series. They join the oh-so-memorable, & immensely enjoyable, cast of collegiate characters from the 1st novel as we shuttle between the 21st century & 1940's in search of a Victorian vase called the bishop's bird stump.
