Mai Premchand ki *Gaban* ka aadha padh chuka hoon, aur hairani hoti hai ki 1931 se ab tak kitna kuch badla hi nahi. Bas chitthiyon ki jagah messages, physical loans ki jagah digital loans aur credit cards aa gaye. Dikhave ki bhookh, samaj mein izzat ka pressure aur haisiyat se badhkar jeene ki chahat aaj bhi wahi hai. Technology badli hai, insaan ki kamzoriyaan nahi.

His writing brought me a strange mix of nostalgia and frustration—reminding me of the marriages I’ve attended in my own family, where everyone seems focused on materialistic things, status, and showing off rather than the meaning behind the occasion.
