Had to stop the audiobook, the accent thing was driving me crazy. Switched to Kindle. Someone needs to explain to the author how to properly use the word "lest." And why are enemies to lovers always "I hate them, but man they're hot and I'd totally bang 'em but I'm going to be mad at myself about it before and after." That's just hate sex, not a relationship. But whatever. Anyways. Onward.

The storyline is good so far but the female narrator on the audiobook is annoying. She gives everyone an accent, including the FMC for her dialogue, but her internal monologue doesn't have an accent. Why would the FMC have an accent in the 1st person? Nobody thinks they have an accent when they're talking. Everybody else in her clan has the same accent. Which again, she wouldn't hear as a native speaker.
