Extremely funny to give an anecdote about the cops interrupting a man getting aggressive with a woman he knew on the street and act like they saved her and this is what policing is all about. I'm really not even anti-cop but come on. We all know next week that guy is gonna abuse her again and get another chance to hurt her.

His describing of the murder at the lunch counter is so bizarre. I can't tell if he's being sarcastic about the "simple misunderstanding" that led a man to punch out a woman for ordering the wrong food. Beyond a one-off mention, too, he seems totally unwilling to mention that this expressive violence directly effects women in most of his examples

Listening twice as I played most of this while navigating the streets of Tokyo so like. I missed some things. 1) such good audiobook production, it's like a podcast, so I am extra invested 2) people were right that Gladwell is a crazy engaging writer though you can sense a lot of research and knowledge gaps
