S- the main character (bod) speaks like a very old person, using words that not meany people use in present day, that's because he learned English from the ghosts of the graveyard who died a long time ago and speak with words that were common for there time.

Bod is a boy who is forced to live in a graveyard because a killer, killed his family when he was a child and left him to be raised by ghosts. He used to have a friend that would visit every day when she went on her walk. but once bod led her into a accent cave that supposedly had treasure inside, her parents found her and moved away. he just got back from an adventure from the ghouls, he was saved by Miss Lupescu.

I think a good symbol would be a gravestone because the main character bod can not leave the graveyard because the outside world isn't safe for him.

the story takes place in a house were a murder comes into a house to kill a family, the baby managed to crawl out of the house in into a nearby graveyard were he was raised by ghosts.
