I can understand Phillip since he apparently wasn't even in love with his betrothed. And that's why he accepted her story so fast. Mom clearly just doesn't like "the other wife's kid". But the dad annoys me being the type to day nothing "for the sake of peace"

I can tell this book is only 7 hours long. I wasnt expecting to nearly finish it in a single sitting! I have been listening to 20 hours books lately so i was surprised wheb i heard the narrator say 'last chapter'
So far the olot seems decent. Characters that are intended to be irritating are nice and irrational to make for a constant antagonist. We'll see how this plot pans out.

I do think its funny that the sister blatantly lied in front of the prince and didnt think anything bad would come from it. Like why not just keep up the facade that shes a horrible person?
