The Dangers Of Smoking In Bed : I find it interesting that this is the book’s eponym because it is probably one of the worst stories in the book haha. Still good; Just would’ve been better if it had been placed before some of the more brilliant stories :).

Kids Who Come Back : My favourite of the short stories in this book so far !!! I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it a million times more: Enriquez is so incredibly good at creating an eerie, uncomfortable mood and tone. While reading, I find myself more enthralled and spooked than I am in horror movies because i’m picturing exactly what I think is going on which is so much more personally scary.

No Birthdays Or Baptisms : So far the most potent of the stories i’ve read. Created very clear and disturbing images and had an overall unsettling mood.

Meat : I really liked this one. I feel like this is the sort of thing that has or will happen due to the way in which people direct unwarranted praise towards people who just happen to be celebrities. It’s crazy because we don’t obsess over people in any other job; but it’s normalised when people are in the public eye.

Where are you, Dear Heart ? - Woah, that’s a crazy thing to be obsessed with. Very interesting look into obsession though 🤷♀️

Rambla Triste - Also , a very good story to re-read :) You understand the hopelessness of all the citizens when you find out they can’t leave

The Well - Pretty good - Still find it crazy they gave her their craziness though wtf - What you get for being youngest child.
Rambla Triste - This is my favourite yet. So moody and spooky and just so good. I love that throughout the whole thing she is obsessed with the smell and then it’s revealed later. Any sort of mention of kids being exploited truly makes my spine shiver and this story did exactly that.
