This is political fantasy and it’s GOOD trust it’s just different and a bit slow if it’s not what you’re (I’m) used to. I care ab the characters I care about the plot. I understand we are being told this story as a biography or memoir or whatever but very few scenes feel grounded? You flutter from scene to scene with a constant inner monologue. Even the supposed high action scenes are VERY briefly detailed. It leans more into stream of consciousness writing than true “high fantasy” which is what I was expecting. It’s also taking forever to pick up. Let’s push through boys
