I love that this book does not provide a hagiography of Alexander, and that alongside is strategic brilliance and personal bravery, we get information about his bloodthirsty behaviour and murder of friends such as Parmenio.

Brilliantly written so far and the maps and battle diagrams really help a lot!

A brilliant historical work so far, and it's excellent to learn about Philip prior to Alexander.
