I'm going to absolutely blaze through this. It's beautiful. The tone of voice reminds me of Nora Ephron's Heartburn. This kind of New Yorker woman, very "cool customer," going through terrible life events with an intellectual, analytical, wry outlook. Growing up in the Midwest, I felt that this mentality was the standard which we all failed to meet.
