I have just begun this sparcely (but beautifully) written debut novel. I have an unshakable impression from about three chapters that, like Elizabeth Strout, its pages will hold a tightly woven story of ordinary folks leading relatively ordinary lives. And as with Strout, a reader should not let their guard down... for often within lives filled with regular things, the extraordinary may happen.
