I don’t even know how im still alive by this point

quin veturius mogging even in his nineties

OH MY GOD HELENE!

“Then the dam broke, and he fell to kid knees as Ruh flew at him. Elias wrapped his son in his arms, his body shaking as he wept”

sabaa tahir you’re officially forgiven for all your sins

okay sabaa tahir isn’t that heartless, I forgive her for all her sins

“I will henceforth be known as Emperor Aquillus, in honor of the woman who saved us all more times than we can count”

idk how will I survive the rest of this book

from hating each other to Laia falling to her knees when she learned the news-

“She was always the Empress, Imperator Invictus. High Commander. But in that moment, she was mother and father, sister and brother, friend and companion.
I’m here, little one, she had whispered to him. I am here”

THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER CHARACTER LIKE HER

“And then he saw her last memory—swift, too swift—
Staring down at him in a crib, her warm hand on his curls. Her heart breaking, and her gaze flinty with a promise she had iced for the last twenty years with every fiber of her being.
“I promise I will keep you safe,” she said. “Whatever the price u will protect you as I didn’t protect them. This I vow, by blood and by bone”
