Richard came through the door in time to hear her. "It was excellent pie."
I would hope the pie was excellent and a great price if he drove forty miles for that pie. I also hope he got a piece to go because that is a long drive for just a slice or two of pie. I don't know if I would drive that long for a slice of pie.
