Ugh, literally same! 😞 It's actually giving toxic behavior—like we've waited years for this, and ppl really couldn't wait for seven days. I'm shielding my eyes scrolling through Goodreads and social media rn cuz spoilers and leaked content are everywhere. It's so disappointing and a shame!😒

I made the mistake of going on twitter a few days ago to look up an artist and ohdeargods the spoilers! The way people were jumping to conclusions based on things out of context and who even knows if what they were reading was even real, I was like.. yeah no

people on twitter were sending me rape threats after i disagreed with them over a ship and which character from boys of tommen elain was. i had to deactivate and delete my account because it was so bad that it impacted my mental health. genuinely the most insufferable fandom ever!!

Idk what's more toxic right now. The ACOTAR fan base or the Fourth Wing fans who went after Rebecca Yarros

No, like it’s genuinely so infuriating! It’s so disrespectful to, not only the author, but also to the readers who have been waiting years for the next ACOTAR instalment. The sheer number of disgusting comments I have seen online is genuinely appalling. It’s ruining the excitement that everyone has about this release, which is really unfortunate and upsetting.

Yes for real! It's like the common sense is out the window. This release date is a huge highlight of the year for me, and I refuse to let my excitement be dimmed because of disrespectful people!

Oh no. That sickens me. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, love. It's completely disgusting the kind of attitude some people have while claiming to be "fans." This is so not on. I hope you were able to report them and find some peace. I've seen this fandom become so toxic in the last 2-3 years, acting like entitled brats tbh

Exactly. Can't believe the audacity to read leaked and pirated copies and pretend that it's okay to spoil it for others. So not amused by this behavior.

i’m so so glad i’ve managed to avoid spoilers cus usually they find me 😭 it’s so disheartening seeing people behave this way, i swear it never used to be this bad. it’s so inconsiderate 😭 people who spoil should be banned from reading the rest of the books actually lol, cause get outttttt.

Omgg so true. That was horrific to see. The kind of entitled attitude "fans" have these days is worrisome. I think we need to accept and address that the bookish community has become quite toxic overtime

Exactly!! And the worst part is that some people are still not respecting it even though so many people have come forward including SJM herself to stop with the leaks. Yet here we are. Extremely disheartening to see the state of the fandom.

Agreed, god this is just childish it comes out in LESS than a week, have we lost respect and decency?!?! We don't deserve to read it with the way people have been acting. People forget this is SJM's story not ours we've just been privileged enough to follow along.

I hear people complaining about "Nesta and the Valkyries are in the book im gonna cancel my order", if u hate the characters so much DONT READ IT and let the rest of us enjoy.

Exactly!! And i won't blame the authors at all. This is exactly what happened with Stephenie Meyer years ago when she was working on Midnight Sun.

The thing is GR has a spoil button so you can put whatever you want, without ruining for everyone else.

I agree I also HATE how stores like Target/Walmart to name a few have the books available to purchase a whole week in advance?! Like😭😭😭 so annoying cause then people go on and straight up SPOIL all of it thank god I have not encountered any spoilers I would have been so mad

yessss, I am so glad I managed to avoid all the spoilers, but this is absolutely not fair to the fans and SJM.. We waited for soo long, is it so difficult to wait just a couple more days??
